How to choose a WhatsApp API provider
Every provider connects to the same Meta API, so the messages themselves are identical. What differs is what sits on top: how quickly you get verified, what happens to replies, and whether your number is genuinely yours.

What is identical everywhere
Delivery, template rules, the 24-hour window and Meta's per-conversation charge do not vary by provider. Anyone claiming better deliverability or cheaper Meta rates is describing something they do not control.
Treat those claims as a signal about the provider rather than about the product.
What genuinely differs
Onboarding is the first real difference: whether they handle business verification and display-name approval for you, or send you a documentation link.
The second is what happens after a message arrives. Some providers stop at sending. The volume problem is on the reply side, and a platform that only broadcasts leaves you with an inbox nobody can staff.
- Do they run verification and display-name approval for you?
- Is the number registered to your business, and can you migrate away?
- Is there a shared inbox with assignment, or just an API?
- Are replies automated, or is that your problem?
- Which CRMs are supported natively, and are webhooks available?

Where the costs hide
Meta's per-conversation charge is separate from the platform fee and appears on every provider. Beyond that, look for per-agent seat pricing, charges for extra numbers, and whether conversation history export costs anything.
The expensive surprise is usually migration. Ask directly what happens to your number and your history if you leave, and get the answer in writing.
If a provider registers the number under their own business rather than yours, moving later is difficult. Confirm ownership before you start.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a provider, or can I go direct to Meta?
Going direct is possible but means building the sending, inbox, template management and reporting yourself. Most businesses want the software, not the connection.
Can I switch providers later?
Yes, if the number is registered to your business. Confirm that before signing, because it is the difference between a migration and starting over.
Does the provider affect delivery speed?
Not meaningfully. Delivery is Meta's. Providers differ in what they let you do with the messages, not whether they arrive.
